Aerospace: "GIS+" Application

18 Mar,2019

Guangzhou Baiyun Airport is the largest import and export shore and important transportation hub in South China. It is one of the three major aviation hubs in China. Its airline network covers more than 210 navigation points around the world and over 75 Chinese and foreign airlines operate here. In 2017, Baiyun Airport’s passenger amount reached 65.636 million which ranked 13th of the world airports. The construction and application of Baiyun Airport EGIS (Engineering Geographic Information System) injected the “GIS+” factor into its intelligent operation and maintenance, and brought a new and refined management model to Baiyun Airport.

The core of EGIS is the construction of the engineering geographic information public service platform. Based on the integration of airport basic geographic data and engineering drawing data, the ESB provides unified standard spatial data for airport application departments and applications in the form of service sharing and distribution.

The disorders in geographic data storage format, multiple standards, scattered storage, and inability to update in time are the problems that confused airport information management department. The information barriers and format confusion have become the major obstacles to the information construction. The EGIS unified the geographic information standard and realized the “one map” management mode of the underground, indoor and outdoor of Baiyun Airport, which provides a unified model for routine maintenance of airport geographic data.

The SuperMap GIS technology can collect, organize and display various engineering data during the life cycle of the project, and clean, organize, convert and store the data to build a project image management system. The system can meet the needs of process management, delivery acceptance and file transfer of the airport engineering data, as well as track and manage the entire process of design documentation, construction documents, and completion documents during the construction phase.

Through 2D and 3D integration technology, the airport pipeline network visualization can provide real and accurate integrated pipeline information, which enables fast query statistics, positioning, auxiliary analysis and decision-making functions, etc. It also provides reliable basis for daily management, pipe network maintenance, analysis and statistics, and planning decision-making for comprehensively designs and constructions of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport pipeline network. Thus, the comprehensive centralized management and distributed application pipeline information system can be formed and it will provide a visual basis for airport construction and planning and prevent network failure caused by the construction.

The road surface management system of flight area realizes comprehensive, effective, scientific and refined management of airport road surface resources. This system can realize background monitoring and mobile terminal networking operations through mobile-web terminal business closed-loop process. The site inspection and offline access of the maintenance records can reduce the time difference of the inspection and reparation process and improve the informationization and intelligence of the airport road surface management.

The system builds indoor and outdoor integrated model for terminal building, and carries out refined positioning and monitoring of the facilities and equipment in building to build visualizing platform of data production and operation. This platform can hierarchically manage the resources of the building, enable the manager to accurately understand the layout, construction and maintenance status of the facility and provide a unified visual “one-stop” operation and maintenance management platform. In all, it effectively improves the intelligent level of airport production operation management, enhances the safety of airport production and operation, and provides a visual basis for daily inspections and emergency repairs.
