Recently, the National “One Map” basic database project, organized by the Second Nationwide Investigation of Land-use Change Committee of The Ministry of Land and Resources PRC, implemented by Beijing Zenith Land Technologies Co., Ltd. based on SuperMap GIS passed the evaluation of the professional group.
The professional group consists of three academicians and six specialists and scholars from Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Surveying & Mapping, National Remote Sensing Center of China, Beijing University, Chinese Academy of Forestry and National Development and Reform Commission. After listening to presentation of project, viewing the related result documentations and the demonstration of the database system, they all agreed:
● Building National “One Map” basic database to take advantage of the second nationwide investigation of land-use change is required, and the significant foundation of the new land resource monitoring mechanism;
● The national “One Map” basic database is based on cutting-edge database management system, remote sensing, GIS and computer network technology, has logic system structure and comprehensive functions. It also has innovation on the TB level massive data management, and the technology adopted by this project reached very high level;
● The national “One Map” basic database stores multi-source heterogeneous spatial data including medium and high resolution orthophoto maps, rural area land investigation data and land-use remote sensing monitoring data, and etc. of nationwide area (Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are not included). The data amount has reached more than 45TB. This project first implements full medium and high resolution remote sensing orthophoto images covering the whole country, and the database amount and scale rank the first in China.
One of the key technologies in this project – “Massive Spatial Data Management Technology” is from SuperMap GIS platform by SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. Thanks to the powerful massive spatial data management technology of SuperMap GIS and the support from SuperMap Software Co., Ltd, Beijing Zenith Land Technologies Co., Ltd. overcome a number of technology difficulties and built the first domestic extremely large database.
The success of this project proved the excellent massive spatial data management ability of SuperMap GIS.
