The International Training Workshop on GIS Application in Hydrology, mostly funded by UNESCO Tehran and partially funded by Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute (CAREERI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was held in Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Geosptial Science (RSLab), CAREERI/CAS, during Oct. 21 to Nov. 3, 2008. SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. carried out a free SuperMap course on the use of SuperMap GIS on hydrological research.
Three Afghanistan researchers from Afghanistan Ministry of Energy and Water participated in this training course, and the training courses covered a range of topics, SuperMap mainly gave the training on SuperMap Desktop GIS and its application in hydrology. The researchers from Afghanistan showed great interested on SuperMap GIS products, and they are impressed by the powerful and easy-to-use software. Sayed, one of the trainees said, "I am glad to know this GIS software. When we use SuperMap Deskpro doing our hydrology analysis, it has an amazing efficiency with high precision. I am sure this excellent software will help a lot in our hydrology research."
