From 05 to 06 November 2010, the Asia GIS 2010 International Conference, hosted by Taiwan Geographic Information Society, was held in the harbor city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. As one of the most well-known GIS brands in China and Japan, SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. is one of main sponsors of this year's conference. The SuperMap delegation, headed by Dr. Zhong Ershun, Board Chairman of SuperMap, was invited to attend the Conference. During the conference Dr. Zhong delivered a keynote lecture titled "Innovation and Industrialization of GIS Platform in Mainland China".
Over 400 representatives including governmental officials, experts, scholars and researchers, from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Thailand and other Asian countries and regions, attended this conference. Delegates carried out several seminars on the basic data construction of GIS industry, GIS technology research and development, GIS application and so on.
