SuperMap Debuted on the 4th CICDC

On October 22nd 2009, SuperMap attended the 4th China International Conference on Digital City (CICDC) in the International Exhibition Center, Beijing, China.

The conference aimed to provide a platform for summarizing and communicating the latest development trends, successful cases and key technologies in digital city construction both at home and abroad; discussing the industrial modes of digital city, and development ways for common supporting technologies of digital city; and sharing experiences of IT applications in urban planning and management, urban intelligent traffic development, digital community construction, and enterprise.


Doctor Kanghong Wang, vice president of SuperMap, gave a report entitled “Service-oriented Digital City Geographic Information Sharing Platforms and Application Solutions” on the conference. “The information technology has been widely applied in urban planning, construction and management.  Especially, the GIS technologies have played an important role in the development of digital city and efficiency of urban public management in China.  The brand-new third generation of service-oriented geographic information sharing mode is coming,” Doctor Wang said. “The geographic information sharing will be developed rapidly in the fields of government informatization, enterprise informatization, personal application, etc. It won’t be restricted by heterogeneous development platforms and different application environments. The information resources should be shared and integrated efficiently. Therefore, we will enter the new era of geographic information service sharing.”

SuperMap has made a big contribution to different fields of digital city in recent years.  It has many mature industrial application cases and a series of digital city solutions for urban planning, digital real property management, digital pipeline management, etc. It has also provided navigation and mobile GIS technology solutions that are widely used in the digital city field.

SuperMap software exhibition caught the audience’s eyes. The latest 2D and 3D integration technology –Realspace was most attractive.  Realspace is one of the three key technologies of SuperMap GIS 6R products.  SuperMap has developed integrated 2D and 3D GIS platforms with the Realspace technology. SuperMap’s staff showed the comprehensive use of 2D and 3D data in digital city management, emergency management and other fields.
