Mongolian Young Scientists Successfully Completed SuperMap GIS Training Courses

Recently, 3 Mongolian young scientists successfully completed their SuperMap GIS training courses and ended the 2-month GIS Training Courses Project within the framework of the Sino-Mongolia Science and Technology Cooperation in the headquarters of SuperMap Technologies, Inc. in Beijing.


The Opening Ceremony

The project is one of the important part of the science and technology cooperation between Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), which aims to help surveying, planning and managing the natural resources, energy and ecology of the neighboring countries and is highly recognized by the leaders of the both sides. After several times of visiting and discussion, the two sides reached an agreement on helping Mongolia with their GIS ability construction, as well as setting up a Joint Research Center for the Sustainable Development of Mongolian Plateau. This time the GIS training course is the first and right start.


Outcome

The project is carried out by Prof. Jiyuan Liu, director of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource Research of CAS (IGSNRR). SuperMap participates in it and implements the SuperMap GIS Training Courses.


In the closing ceremony, the 3 Mongolian young scientists presented what they have learnt in SuperMap and demonstrated the “Resource and Environmental Information System of Mongolian Plateau” developed with SuperMap Objects and SuperMap IS .NET by themselves during the training courses. They expressed that SuperMap GIS software is very well designed with powerful function and is of easy to learn and use.


After the courses, IGSNRR presented the Institute of Geography of Mongolian Academy of Sciences 3 brand new Lenovo computers. SuperMap Company also presented many SuperMap GIS software valued about 60 thousands of USD.
