On September 15th – 16th, “2005’ GIS Technology & Industry Forum of Chinese Academy of Science and SuperMap New Products Launch” was succeed hold in Xijiao Hotel, Beijing. This forum focuses on the thesis of “Independent innovation of GIS techniques”; so as to communicate and exhibit some techniques and products with totally independent innovation intellectual property and international effect spreading in Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is represented by SuperMap.
This forum is the third GIS Technology & Industry Forum organized by Center for GIS Industry Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences and hosted by SuperMap GIS Technologies, Inc. The open ceremony of this forum was preside by Mr. Jiyuan Liu, the superintendent of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of CAS and some leaders gave an oration such as Mr. Guangzhao Zhou -- the academician and chairman of China Association for Science and Technology and the former Vice Chairman of the National People`s Congress; Mr. Shupeng Chen -- the China GIS project founder and the academician of China Academy of Sciences; Mr. Jiulin Sun --the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Prof. Jun Chen –the director of National Fundamental Geographic Information Center and the chairman of China GIS Association; Mr. Guanghua Wang- the director of Information Center of the Ministry of Land and Resources; Mr. Guocheng Zhang—the director of National Remote Sensing Center of China; Mr. Yongchang Yu—the secretary-general of China Association for Geographic Information System, etc.
The broad chairman of SuperMap, Mr. Zhong Ershun, the director of the Center for GIS Industry Development, CAS gave a special report about the independent innovation and industrialization of GIS and introduced the innovation experience and situation of market development of SuperMap GIS technique. Mr. Zhong Ershun believes that the technique must combine with industrialization based on independent innovation to develop China GIS industry.
