Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony (MOU) between EIT and SuperMap by Sky 11 on “BIM System Developing Cooperation”

Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony (MOU) between The Engineering Institute of Thailand Under H.M. The King's Patronage (EIT) and SuperMap by Sky 11 was held on November 17, 2021 in National Engineering Fair 2021 at Pullman Bangkok King Power. This collaboration was signed by Dr. Thanes Weerasiri, President of Engineering Institute of Thailand and Mr. Somporn Muangmee, CEO of Sky 11 and representative of SuperMap in Thailand and witnessed by Dr. Tossaporn Seeiam, Director of BIM Institute in Engineering Institute of Thailand, and other guests. This MoU aims to develop an international friendship, cooperation network and use highly technology for BIM system in Thailand.

Dr. Tossaporn Seeiam who is Director of BIM Institute in Engineering Institute of Thailand delivered an opening speech. He introduced about the origin of BIM institute and MoU cooperation between EIT and SuperMap. BIM institute was founded by the initiative of Dr. Thanes Weerasiri who is President of Engineering Institute of Thailand and he was honored to come in this ceremony as well. SuperMap became the sixth software that EIT will use in BIM institute. It will support BIM system development and he hoped this cooperation will make BIM institute as a knowledge development center and it is truly a professional upgrade of Thailand.

Besides, Dr. Thanes Weerasiri mentioned about GIS technology benefits. There are many issues in Thailand that we have to concern like flooding or other issues that we can use GIS technology to solve the problems and make it more convenient in many works. He was grateful and want to go forward together.

Apart from that, representative from SuperMap headquarter has briefly introduced SuperMap technologies and company. During this cooperation, SuperMap had confident that our platform will support BIM lab in EIT to teach participants, do the researches and would love to join together with EIT to provide Chinese National Standard into Thailand market. SuperMap will transfer this knowledge of the Chinese National Standard on 3D GIS and Smart City in order to make better Smart City system standard for Thailand and happy to have Sky 11 who is partner and has good cooperation with.  

Mr. Somporn Muangmee, CEO of Sky 11 and representative of SuperMap in Thailand, said that he is very thankful that EIT gave the chance for SuperMap to share, exchange the knowledge and bring this knowledge to the people who is interested in GIS software. He has introduced more about SuperMap software and shared the experience from using SuperMap platform software with government projects in Thailand. This cooperation between SuperMap and EIT will be the starting point for the development of the country’s personnel to use the software by training them in BIM lab and provides service to EIT.
