On May 16th, SuperMap warmly welcomed the students from the Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (RCSSTEAP) China and Beihang University. It is honored to be the 7th stop of the Journey of Chinese Aerospace Technology and Culture 2019 of RCSSTEAP and to participate into the program.
During the visiting, Ms. Nicole Chen, the regional Business Manager of SuperMap International introduced the company information in exhibition hall to help students better understand the SuperMap history and GIS technologies. The students paid visit to R&D Department where showed the advanced technologies of SuperMap – the Lean Agile R&D Management system, as well as working places of different sectors.
Then Mr. Bill Li, the regional Technical Support Engineer of SuperMap International gave a presentation about the latest SuperMap GIS technologies and applications of 2D&3D integration, big data, AI and 3D GIS and answered the questions from students.
After the visiting, one of the student visitors gave a positively feedback of “this visit was really very important for me as a student in RS-GIS major. It shows new things and gave a good idea about the work pattern of such a big GIS-based software company.”
SuperMap is glad to meet students from RCSSTEAP and share with them the industry technologies and applications. Also, SuperMap is looking forward to establishing closer cooperation with RCSSTEAP and providing technological supports for excellent students and experts.
Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (RCSSTEAP) China was established on November 12, 2014. The Centre is located at the main campus of Beihang University, Beijing, China. The Centre, as an education and training entity supported by the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), was established with a mission to promote the peaceful used of space technologies for the benefit of humanity and to sensitize the countries within the region about space science and technology activities by educating and creating awareness through training, workshops, short courses and outreaches.
