From 4 to 5 Sept,SuperMap GIS Conference 2009 (SGC 2009) was successfully held in Beijing, China. With the theme of this year was "GIS Creates Value, We Innovate GIS",the conference this year attracted about 3500 participants from home and abroad.
During the first day plenary session, Dr. Zhong Ershun, Board Chairman of SuperMap gave a keynote speech on "Innovation of GIS". He summarized the 3key visions that SuperMap kept in mind in the process of innovation: User Vision ,IT Vision and International Vision. He also summarized that SuperMap has innovatively developed 3 key technologies: Universal GIS that makes SuperMap GIS Products cross platforms with high performance, Service GIS that fully supports SOA, and Realspace GIS that integrates 2D GIS with 3D GIS perfectly. Dr. Guanfu SONG, gave his speech introducing the Realspace GIS technology. He pointed out that the Realspace GIS technology is the way to solve the dilemma of 2D and 3D GIS integration. He also announced the release of SuperMap GIS 6R, inside which the Realspace GIS technology has been implemented in all its products, including SuperMap iServer 6R, SuperMap Deskpro .NET 6R, SuperMap Objects .NET/Java 6R and SuperMap iClient 6R.
SuperMap GIS applied in public security and emergency fields
On 5th Sept, there had 7 parallel sessions covering different topics, including SuperMap GIS Technology, SOA and Digital City, Land Administration, Navigation and LBS, Facility Management, Environment, Pubic Security, etc. There were about 70 presentations in total and drew great interest of the participants. At the same time, the 2-day exhibition showcased the latest SuperMap GIS 6R products and applications. There are about 30 exhibitors including Lenovo, HP and Trimble exhibited in this conference also.
