2nd-4th, August, 25th anniversary for CPGIS (International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences) and 25th International Conference on Geoinformatics was held in Buffalo, USA. CPGIS is dedicated in advancing the communications among the scholars from both China and abroad, advancing the development of GIS. The conference invited Ms. Du Qing’e, Executive Vice President of SuperMap Group, to participate and address a speech.
There are 3 academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and guests from US National Academy of Sciences, The Royal Society, UK and The Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada participated in the conference, which include Michael Goodchild, Luc Anselin, Michael Batty, Li Deren, Xu Guanhua, Guo Huadong, Gong Jianya, Chen Mingjing, Anthony Yeh, etc.

Ms. Du addressed the speech on behalf of SuperMap Group, introducing the business development and 4 major business lines which include platform, application, international and big data, sharing the achievements in ecological protection and distributor and partner seeking in North America, Russia and South East Asia. She also shared the brand dream ‘to be a global leading GIS’ to the participants. In the core technologies introduction, Ms. Du introduced the support from SuperMap GIS on cutting-edge technologies like oblique photogrammetry, BIM, etc. and the development on SuperMap cloud GIS, big data GIS, demonstrating the cases like Changchun oblique photogrammetry, Shanghai BIM center.
The speech of Ms. Du drew wide attention from participants at CPGIS, they are impressed by the development of SuperMap GIS, especially in massive oblique photogrammetry support and BIM, hoping to have further cooperation with SuperMap in city designing, BIM, big data, etc.

At the Q & A process, Lin Hui, founder of CPGIS, professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong asked the internationalization of SuperMap and suggest SuperMap can use ‘One Belt and One Road’ to expand more overseas markets. Ms. Du agreed with Prof. Lin, saying SuperMap is also seeking the partnership, university and experts in North America and trying to set SuperMap international science network, letting more people to know SuperMap.
At the banquet of the conference, Ms. Du introduced SuperMap to the academicians from the world. Mike Goodchild expressed that even he is in the US, he still has very deep impression on SuperMap, which indicates SuperMap has more international influence. Jingming Chen, World renowned GIS expert, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada has sent his best regards for SuperMap.

With CPGIS 25th anniversary, SuperMap Group showed Chinese image for American GIS, letting more experts know the changes of Chinese GIS software, especially in emerging technologies like big data, cloud GIS, 3D, etc.
