Law of Surveying and Mapping of the People's Republic of China regulates that China encourages the development of GIS industry, advancing industry structure changing and optimization, supporting GIS products, improving product quality, promoting secure and reliable GIS technology and equipment. The law provides the legal protection for the development of GIS industry, which will advocate the healthy development of GIS. Currently, new IT technologies like big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, quantum communication are leading technological and industrial revolutions, which brings new space and new opportunities for GIS development. In order to advance the innovation, merging, transforming, upgrading, and improving the industry, China GIS Industry Conference 2017 will be held in Guiyang, China.
