The 11th South East Asian Survey Congress (11th SEASC 2011) and the 13th International Surveyors' Congress (13th ISC 2011), were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 22 to 24 June 2011 with the theme "INNOVATION TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY". This combined event was organized in conjunction with and as part of the 50th anniversary of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (ISM), and was hosted by the ASEAN Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics (ASEAN FLAG) and the Association of Authorised Land Surveyors Malaysia (PEJUTA).
Dr. Kanghong Wang, vice president of SuperMap, was invited to deliver a speech at China Forum on Surveying and Mapping, which was held by the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation of China during the congress. Mr. Allen Han, general manager of International Business Division of SuperMap, introduced SuperMap GIS Key Technologies for Cloud Computing in the technical session.
SEASC is the flagship event of the ASEAN Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics, and also a regional event supported by FIG where FIG normally runs a few parallel technical sessions. This event attracts audiences not only from South East Asia, but also from East Asia (Hong Kong, China, Korea and Japan), Australasia, Africa and the Indian Sub-continent.
The Congress highlights initiatives aiming at encouraging the convergence, sharing and use of innovative technologies and knowledge as well as other initiatives to forge new collaborations and identify potential avenues for research, development and innovation across all related disciplines for the benefit of the profession and the community towards sustainable development. This year's congress was attended by over 1,000 participants.
