Recently, SuperMap Japan Co., Ltd., the Japanese branch of SuperMap Software Co., Ltd., celebrates the 10th anniversary, congratulated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), and some other SuperMap customers. The celebration marks that after a decade of development, SuperMap GIS has more than 1,400 users and dozens of partners in Japan. SuperMap has become one of the main GIS software platform and service providers in Japan.
Since 2000, SuperMap came to Japan market, which was the first step of SuperMap's international strategy. With powerful software functions and highly localized market strategies, SuperMap has gradually been recognized by the Japanese users. Since 2004, SuperMap GIS has been ranked as one of the top 5 GIS platform products in Japan, and was the only Asian brand among them. More than 10 of Fortune 500 companies, the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transportation of Japan, the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, Japan Post and some other government agencies have become loyal customers of SuperMap. SuperMap GIS played an important role in the Niigata Earthquake in Japan and also the security of the Group of Eight Summit (G8), etc.
