SuperMap Offered GIS Training in Tanzania

At the invitation of the National Environment Management Council (NEMC) and UNESCO Dar es Salaam Cluster Office, Ms. Zhang, senior training engineer of SuperMap, attended the training workshop on the use of Remote Sensing and GIS for Biosphere Reserve’s Management in Tanzania.

This activity was held from March 4 to 8, 2010 in the KiBook Palace Hotel, Arusha, Tanzania. It was part of the UN Systems assistance to Tanzania through the Delivering as One Programme in the area of environment and climate change. During the workshop, Ms. Zhang provided training on the use of SuperMap Deskpro as well as the SuperMap’s successful cases for the management of Biosphere Reserves to 37 environmental officers and planners in Tanzanian who were responsible for conservation, land management and the management of biodiversity.
