A few days ago, Suzhou City Information Model (CIM) Platform was put into trial operation. SuperMap GIS supports the whole process of data aggregation, management, sharing, analysis, and visualization, and supports the construction of the “Twin Suzhou” space-time base.
Suzhou is speeding up the construction of a digital city. After a year of preparation, the basic platform of Suzhou’s urban information model was put into trial operation a few days ago, recreating a “twin Suzhou” with massive data.
From bucket arches to plaques, with the help of digital technology, every component of the Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple can be reproduced and displayed on the map exactly. When the basic platform of the city information model is integrated with the digital cultural preservation model of the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, and Tourism, each ancient cultural relic is revived in the digital city and provides powerful spatial simulation capabilities for the protection and renewal of the ancient city.
At present, the Suzhou CIM Platform has covered 420 square kilometers of refined 3D models of buildings, roads, and water systems in the middle ring, and has achieved the accurate restoration of spaces such as subway stations and underground pipelines from ground to underground.
“We can sort out the important data and realize a city-wide data fusion analysis platform through entity association. For example, through the community, building data can be integrated, which can not only achieve rapid positioning but also query population data and legal person data to assist the operation and supervision of the city”, introduced by Zhu Renjie, a member of the Suzhou City Information Model (CIM) Platform project team.
With the continuous improvement of the platform, Suzhou will achieve full coverage of the fine model in the future.
