A New Conversion Plug-in: Bentley to SuperMap GIS

Overview

At present, there is no direct and effective solution for the integration of Bentley BIM and SuperMap GIS. The data format and software interface of Bentley platform are relatively closed, and so the geometric objects and spatial relationships, attributes and materials are easily lost when docking data through the intermediate format.

While, the BIM model lightweight conversion tool can realize the data docking between Bentley and SuperMap. It directly imports the geometry, materials and attributes of Bentley's professional design models into SuperMap platform to reduce the data number and realize smoothly browsing. The function of one-click exporting and automatic exporting can effectively solve the problem of data integration and sharing between CAD and GIS system, and brings great convenience to users.

Supporting Software

The tool supports software of CONNECT version on Bentley platform, such as: MicroStation, AECOSim, Substation, OpenRoadsDesigner, BRCM and other software, and supports the formats of *.dgn, *.i.dgn, *.iModel.

1. BIM model analysis: The hollow shell technology supports accurately extracting the geometric model, deeply traversing the DGN file, and completely exporting the model material and attributes, which enables the geometric operation of BIM model in GIS.

 

 

2, The lightweight model: The level of detail (LOD) technology supports analyzing the differences in display precisions and display details of geometric model. This reduced the number of triangular faces, the hidden features of the model, constraint information and other non-essential information, and speeded up the system graphics processing and rendering, and improved the browsing experience in GIS.

3. GIS data model reconstruction: Reconstruct the data analyzed from Bentley design model by using SuperMapGIS components to enable the losslessly revivification of BIM model and integrates the attribute information.

4. Automatic exporting: There is no need to open related Bentley software, as long as the exported design file is placed in the specified catalogue, the tool will monitor the catalogue in real time and automatically converts into SuperMapGIS data file according to the user's setting parameters.
