SuperMap (SuperMap Software Co., Ltd.) released the SP2 version of SuperMap GIS 6 (English version) in January 2011. Based on the users’ reports and market investigation, a number of new functions have been added to SuperMap GIS 6 SP2, and the software functions have been improved in many aspects. As the problems identified by the users have been resolved and their urgent needs have been met, the new version will provide better GIS services. The main new features of the products are described below.
Added Features for SuperMap IS .NET 6:
1. New support for customizing initialization parameters on the client
2. New support for extending user-level handler security
3. New support for batch updating edge weights and node weights
4. New support for WMS cache of OGC service
5. New support for simple cache on AjaxScript client
6. New support for the overlay WMS service on AjaxScript client
7. New support for GML 2.1.2 of WFS 1.1.0 service
Added Features for SuperMap Objects 6:
1. Map Projection: New support for Oblique Stereographic projection in the user-define projections.
2. Data Editing and Processing: New support for ordering data records in terms of the specified field. Support for selecting specified rows by setting SmID collection of rows in the recordset.
3. Data Conversion: New support for exporting the point, line, region, text, network, CAD, 3D point, 3D line dataset to DWG format.
4. Data Conversion: New support for exporting the dataset to DXF/DWG files, exporting attribute data to XRecord Data extended records; and new support for importing XRecord Data extended records when DXF/DWG files are imported.
5. Data Conversion: New support for style comparison when DGN V8 files are imported.
6. Data Conversion: New support for style comparison when DXF/DWG files are imported & exported.
7. Mapping: New support for setting filter conditions of node sub-layers under the network layer. Only the network nodes that meet the filter condition can be displayed.
8. Layout: New support for Raster Print, and for the optimized print effectiveness of the raster data.
9. Layout: New support for map overview, table, and grid.
10. Topo Analysis: New topo pre-processing functions for object-to-object, object-to-dataset, and object-to-recordset.
11. Topo Analysis: New functions for snapping the specified types of nodes in the dataset.
Added Features for SuperMap Deskpro 6/Express 6/Viewer 6:
1. Map Projection: New support for Oblique Stereographic projection in the user-define projections.

2. Improved support for DB2 engine, including network analysis, distance calculation in latitude and longitude coordinates.
3. Improved support for Oracle Spatial engine, and new support for editing most types of data, including hole-polygon, 3D data.
4. Improved support for SDE engine, especially for point, line, region datasets of SDE engine as well as for dataset replication from different engines.
5. Improved support for Oracle engine. The system can output map normally even if the network disconnects and reconnects again. Improvements on concurrent operation on the same dataset by multiple users.
