Q: I created an oracle datasource on the client with oracle10g installed on Window7. The server is Windows Server 2003 with oracle10g server. Why is the text in the attribute table and label thematic maps garbled for the data stored in the oracle datasource?

A: Possible reasons are as follows:

[1] There are uncommon words in the field value and the system currently does not have the character set, which results in unrecognized garbled characters.

[2] The character sets on the Oracle client and server are inconsistent (this is the main reason). Please make sure that the character sets on the server and the client are consistent to solve this issue.
