SuperMap Deskpro .NET 6R(2012) (V6.1.3)

Data Manipulation

    - New OpenStreetMap data engine, and Baidu map engine which supports the online reading and displaying of the Baidu map service.
    - New external vector file Engine which can read variously external vector files.
    - Supports the function of importing the MapInfo workspace which is to import the dataset as well as the maps and symbols in the workspace so that users can directly use it.
    - Supports the spatial query of the CAD data so that users can perform the spatial query on various data.
    - New function of creating image dataset which supports loading multiple image files into an image dataset that will be operated as an image layer.
    - Supports building pyramid for the raster files (*.tiff, *.tif, *.img) which are opened in the form of datasource.
    - Supports importing an OSGB dataset as a CAD Dataset which can be displayed in the scene.
    - Supports the interactively semi-automatic vectorization function of the image/raster data so as to improve the efficiency of the vectorization by users.

Mapping and Browsing

    - New overlap settings function. When the points, texts and symbols are overlapped with each other in the map, you can control the filtering of different objects so as to improve the display effect of maps.
    - Add a new function that is to delay refreshing using the roller. When this function is activated, the map will be reloaded in 0.4 second after the roller rolls that is very effective for speeding up the display speed of the massive data.
    - Supports the PNG 8 map cache file whose background is transparent and storage space is smaller. A variety of pictures can satisfy the output requirements of various maps.
    - Add a new function that is to set the display order field of the object. The map objects will display in a numerical order of the display order field (ascending order or descending order).
    - Supports creating the map cache in a resuming/recovery way. It will continue generating the map cache file according to the progress of the last operation.

Scene Operations

    - Adds two new particle effects: Rain and snow. It can realistically simulate the scenarios of rain and snow.
    - Adds a new function that is to export a CAD 3D model dataset as a *.X model file so as to facilitate users to use the model in other application program.
    - Supports the setting of always render, which means the scene will still be rendered in real time after the scene loses focus.
    - New Absolute Underground mode corresponding to the Relative To Underground mode. When the elevation is calculated, the datum is the earth surface which is not be affected by the terrain.
    - Supports setting the transparency for the raster/image layer in the scene so as to achieve the transparent effect.
    - Supports setting the thin display distance for the vector model cache. According to the specified distance, the close model is displayed using a thin model, and the far model is displayed using a simple model. It is very conducive to the resource allocation when the model is rendering so that the scene has greater display efficiency.
    - Adds a new function that is to set the preloaded range, which is used to set the loaded range of the vector model cache. This can increase the display range of the model cache so as to make it more fluid in the scene browser.
    - The 3D fly manager adds a new accelerating/decelerating play function so as to help users better control the flight.
    - When the full scene cache is being generated, it supports the texture compression (PC and PAD texture compression format). For the PAD texture compression format, it supports generating the offline map package which can be used on the iOS equipment.
    - New 3D custom thematic map which supports creating the custom thematic map in the scene. Its operation method is similar to that of the 2D custom thematic map.

Spatial Analysis

    - New building DEM function which is to simulate the creation of the terrain according to the given contours and elevation points data so as to get the raster dataset.
    - New DEM building lakes function which can achieve to build lakes in the process of building DEM or after the DEM is built so as to make the local micro-topography to be better simulated.
    - New DEM split function which is to split the DEM data into two new raster datasets according to the split line in the situation that is not to change the data range.
    - New computing surface function which supports computing the distance, area and volume of the raster surface.
    - New distance grid function which is to analyse the spatial distance from each grid cell to its closest cell. There are 3 methods: Generating the (straight-line) distance grid, calculating the shortest route and computing the shortest route between two points.
    - New raster statistics function which provides multiple statistical methods for the raster data including the statistics of basic, common, neighborhood, elevation and zonal.
    - New thinning raster function which is used to thin the raster data for the raster vectorization. It is applicable to the process of converting raster data into line data.
    - New profile analysis function which is used to analyse the sectional variation of the raster surface along a specified line so as to help understand the undulating terrain of the profile and calculate the profile area so as to provide references for the engineering design and measurement.
    - New finding extrema function which is to find the extrema information of the grid surface in a specified region, including the number and magnitude of the extrema.
    - New 3D orthophotography function which is used to generate an orthophotography for the raster data.
    - New hillshade function which is used to generate a stereo hillshade map with the parameters of the grid surface such as the angles of the light sources and shadows.

Dynamic Segmentation

    - New dynamic segmentation function. The application provides a complete dynamic segmentation process, including generating the routing, calibrating the routing, generating/overlaying/dissolving the event table, managing the event table relationship, etc. It can generate spatial data with the routing dataset and event table to achieve the high-efficient linkage modifications based on the dynamic segmentation relations so as to help users quickly solve the problem of the actual dynamic positioning.

Hydrology Analysis

    - New hydrology analysis function helps users study the hydrologic characteristics of the drainage area and simulate the hydrologic process of earth surface. The functions of hydrology analysis mainly include filling sinks, calculating flow direction, calculating flow length, calculating cumulative water, river grading, connecting water system and vectorization.

Network Analysis

    - New network analysis function. The practical problems can be solved by various analyses in the network model. Currently the application provides a variety of transportation analyses such as optimal path analysis, finding closest facility, traveling salesmen analysis, service area analysis and logistics, and a variety of facility analyses such as tracing analysis, adjacent element analysis and connected element analysis.

Sample Data and Symbol Resources

    - New CBD scene cache data which are used to display the Beijing CBD scene.
    - New symbolization modelling data of the CBD data which are the symbolization modelling scene based on the 2D map data. It can view the scene model by the linkage with the 2D map.
    - Symbol selector supports simultaneously loading multiple symbol libraries so as to facilitate users to browse and apply symbol resources in a larger range.

Enhanced Features

    - Unifiedly adjusts the 3D altitude mode. The way after adjusting is better to distinguish between ground and underground data. The optimized features include the settings of altitude mode, extension property of thematic maps and particle object management window.
    - Optimizes the functions of histograms. The application provides two types of histograms: The sample point histogram visually displays the frequency's distribution of a field of sample points; the raster histogram does statistics on the distribution of all the cell values of raster data.
    - Redesigns the management buttons of the color library. The functions of new color library buttons are more comprehensive and powerful, which support adding a color palette, importing/exporting color library files, picking a color from a picture file, adding labels for colors, etc.
    - Improves the connected line function. The application provides two connected ways: Head-to-tail connection and adjacent point connection. It also defines the direction of the line object after the connection.

Interface Design

    - Redesign several tabs and the new layout is more suitable to the user's operation habit.
    - Replace most of the icons and the interface feast for the eyes.

Drawing Objects

Simplify and redesign the method of drawing objects, which improves the user experience in the process of drawing.
    - Redesign the drawing methods to improve the mechanism of drawing object. It no longer makes the differences for the common or precise drawing method. Provides not only the drawing function for common objects, but also the mechanism to draw custom graphics for secondary development.
    - In the types of geometric objects, added the function for drawing multiple geometric object, such as point, polyline, polygon, regular polygon, orthogonal polygon, rectangle, round rectangle, parallelogram, diamond, arc, circular arc, ellipse arc, circle, ellipse and so on.
    - Added four drawing options, which allows users to draw more easily and smoothly. Users can improve the efficiency with these drawing options. For example, auto connect line, auto close line, auto split line and auto split region, which improves the drawing efficiency.

Editing Objects

Based on the new drawing mechanism, improve and enrich the function of objects editing, which solves the problems in the process of processing data. The followings are the new functions:

Processing Data

    - Two types of data engines are added to support iServerRest and MapWorld. They support the map services released by iServer Rest and the online reading and displaying of Tianditu service respectively.
    - Added function for importing CSV data. It supports for importing the CSV text file into the application and is used as attribute data, which is easy to use the data.
    - Added function for saving thematic map as CAD dataset, which contributes to save the style of thematic layer and export in the format of CAD.
    - Added function for zooming to the image resolution of this layer, which adjusts the image raster layer to the best.
    - Added function for vector dataset fusion. It is easy to fuse the objects that meet a certain conditions and create a new object.
    - Added function for topology analysis. It provides lots of topology rules, which is convenient to topology check and process the vector data. At the same time, it also provides the methods for constructing network dataset based on the topology rules.
    - Added function for updating raster dataset. Use one or more raster datasets to update the corresponding parts of another raster dataset.
    - Added function for updating dataset attribute table. Update the attribute information in one of the datasets according to the spatial relations in datasets to update.
    - Added function for adding datasets. It is easy to add new records to current dataset.
    - Added function for adding columns. It is easy to add the field information in other datasets to current dataset.
    - Added function for field index. Create the index for one or more fields in database dataset, which contributes to quickly search and data sorting.
    - Added function for data mosaic. It supports for setting two or more raster datasets into a raster dataset according to the spatial relation. The raster mosaic can realize the perfect fusion of raster data.
    - Added function for vector datasets resample. It is easy to simplify the objects with dense nodes and improve the drawing speed.
    - Added function for merging fragmentary polygons. Merge the small polygons into the adjacent large polygon to increase the small objects and beautify the display effects.
    - Added function for smoothing vector datasets. Insert a mount of nodes into the line objectreclassifings in line dataset, CAD dataset and network dataset, which makes the line object smoother.
    - Added function for raster data resample. You can change the resolution of raster data through the resample function and meet the different application needs.
    - Added function for reclassifying raster data. According to a certain grading standard, reclassify the cell value in raster dataset and assign a new value for each level.
    - Added function for raster algebraic operation. This function is to operate the mathematics and functional operation for one or more raster data and meets the multiple raster analysis needs.
    - Added function for setting display range for raster datasets. Filter display the raster image in outside the mask region.
    - Added function for setting color table for raster dataset. Set the fixed color table for the raster dataset and it will save the color style if you open next time.


    - Added function for mapping for scales, which contributes to map according to the scales. It can set the scales for every layer.

Spatial Analysis

    - Added function for conversion of vector and raster, including raster to vector and vector to raster.
    • The function of raster to vector is to convert the raster data into vector data.
    • The function of vector to raster is to convert the vector data into raster data.
    - Added the function for slope analysis. The slope analysis is used to calculate the pixel slope of raster data. According to the slope, the terrain of analysis area will be displayed.
    - Added function for aspect analysis. The aspect analysis is used to the aspect of every pixel in raster data. You can determine the region orientation according to the aspect.
    - Added function for cutting and filling and cutting and filling of region. This function is used to calculate the region and volume of surface and provides the basis and reference for construction or soil and water conservation decision-making.

Scene Operation

    - Added function for converting the 3D line into flying route, which makes users have more choices when create the flying route.
    - Added function for drawing 3D objects. It supports for drawing 3D points, lines, polylines, polygons and particle objects.
    - Added function for 3D particle effects. Simulate a certain fuzzy display technology in the scene and render the abstract visual effects through the particle system, such as fire, smog, fountain, explosion, fireworks and so on.
    - Added function for setting objects mapping. Render the mapping objects of model or stretching, which improves the authenticity.
    - Added function for setting texture for 3D thematic items. Use texture mapping for the items of ThemeUnique and ThemeRange to reach the real display effects.
    - Added function for matching terrain model. According to the altitude of model, modify the terrain (cut and fill) to match the current model and realize the perfect joint of model and terrain.
    - Added function for shadow of 3D layer. The shadow is valid for the stretched vector dataset and vector cache layer, which adds the reality of model.
    - Added function for 3D visibility analysis. It is the visibility analysis between viewpoint and target point in scene.

Extension Development

    - SuperMap Deskpro .NET plug template supports for creating plug and secondary development based on Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2011.
    - Added function for quick reference. It is easy to add the SuperMap references with one button when users develop the plug template based on SuperMap Deskpro .NET.


    - Added the thematic document of objects drawing. Describe the concepts used in drawing objects.
    - Added the thematic document of objects editing. It differentiates similar objects editing operations.
    - Added the Web datasource document. It introduces multiple Web datasources supported by SuperMap GIS 6R currently.


    - Added the sample code of CustomArrowDrawing. Introduce how to develop a plug to draw a custom graph.
    - Added the new function of reminding file type license expiration. It reminds users that use the file license to update the license.


    - Optimize the function for adding single value for vector and raster ThemeUnique, which makes the management of ThemeUnique even easier.
    - Optimize the interface for sun effects. In the scene, support the sun effects shining in 24 hours and day photoperiod, and the playback function.
    - Update the FrameData. The updated framework data volume is smaller, faster loading, and provides you with a very smooth scene experience.

Processing Data

    - Two types of data engines are added to support PostgreSQL and DB2.
    - GoogleMaps and SuperMapCloud engines are added to support accessing and displaying google maps and cached data of SuperMap cloud services.

Map Cache

    - Added map cache version 5.0 allows you to generate map caches using either the local or global tiling method.

    - Added support for the sketch mode. In the sketch mode, only the skeleton without textures of models will be displayed in the scene.

Nautical Charts

    - Feature display control is added for nautical chart features, which allows you to control the status (visibility, selectivity, etc.) of the features.
    - Added support for editing nautical chart feature properties.

Symbol Resources

    - Gradient types are added for marker properties, which allows you to set gradient styles for region strokes, with the effects being similar to those of the layer styles.

Work Environment Design

    - Added function for theme design, which allows you to change the theme style of the desktop application. Either default or custom theme styles can be used.

Extension Development

    - Interfaces are added for theme design and an example is provided for theme design and development, which helps you customize the theme style of your desktop.
    - Interfaces are added for context menu management, which allows you to customize context menus.
    - Links are added for interfaces. You can select an object and click Enter to view the detailed description fort.
    - Optimize flying management and flying management in the scene currently supports extension development.

Frame Data

    - The frame data is updated employing the compact caching mechanism. Compared to the frame data in the previous version, the frame data of this version has less files and consumes less disk space.

Data Processing

    - Data registration for a single or a batch of datasets at the same time.
    - Data editing: including trim, extend, break, precise break, split, offset, union, intersect, XOR, group, ungroup, rotate, style painter, and attribute painter.
    - Map clip: draw shapes to clip a map and save the result as a new dataset.
    - Data conversion: including conversion among point, line, and region data, 2D and 3D data, CAD and simple data, text data and fields, and conversion from network nodes to point, line data, text to point data, tabular to point data, etc.

Spatial Query

Nautical Chart

    - Symbol Manager for marker, line, and fill symbol library management and symbol creation and editing.
    - Extended window mode for displaying and operating child windows independent of the main application or on other monitors.
