The 2nd UNESCO Training Course on GIS for EABRN Successfully Ended

From December 4 to 15, the two-week 2nd EABRN Training Course on GIS Applications for Biosphere Reserve successfully finished. There are totally 18 participants from 8 countries including China, Japan, Republic of Korea, DPRK, Mongolia, Russia, Laos and Samoa etc., participated in this program.


This program was organized by UNESCO Office Beijing and China MAB Committee, while implemented by the Institute of Geo-graphical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of Chinese Academic of Sciences (IGSNRR) and SuperMap Technologies, Inc. (SuperMap). IGSNRR and SuperMap not only freely provided venues and environments for this program, but also freely provided its man power for training. Furthermore, SuperMap presented 1 set of SuperMap Deskpro to  every  participant in order to support their research in Biosphere Reserve.


With the topic of GIS and its applications in Biosphere Reserve, the sponsors  provided the participants profound knowledge in this field through seminars, presentations, practice and discussions. SuperMap GIS software is used through this program. The participants not only learned lots of applications of SuperMap in Biosphere Reserve, but also learned how to collect, manage, analyze and publish their data by themselves through practice with SuperMap GIS software. According to the class investigation afterwards, the program received good comments from all the participants.
