SuperMap attended FIG 2024 Working Week and discussed natural resource management with overseas peers

From May 19 to 24, FIG Working Week 2024 and the 47th FIG Congress were held in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The activity was jointly organized by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), the Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana (LISAG) and the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS). Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo attended the opening ceremony on the 19th and delivered a speech.

The theme of this work week is "Your World, Our World: Resilient Environment and Sustainable Resource Management for all". 1,500 surveying and mapping professionals from more than 80 countries participated in the conference activities to discuss advanced technologies and best practices in the field of natural resource management. SuperMap participated in the exhibition as a gold sponsor and gave a report at the technical forum.

At the technical forum held on the 20th, Hu Chenpu, head of the application solutions team of SuperMap International, gave a report entitled "Real-scene 3D Construction Based on New Fundamental Surveying and Mapping Technology". Combining the advantages of new fundamental surveying and mapping technology, he introduced SuperMap's thoughts and practice in the process of real-scene 3D construction from the perspective of data production, management, service and application integration, focusing on the construction of geographic entity database, real-scene 3D data management system, and real-scene 3D data base platform.

SuperMap's booth welcomed government representatives and corporate representatives from the land management, environmental protection, urban planning and other departments from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Senegal and other countries who learned about SuperMap's platform software product system, GIS-related industry solutions and successful international cases.

FIG President Dr. Diane Dumashie and the organizers visited the SuperMap booth. Dr. Dumashie introduced SuperMap and SuperMap’s cooperation with FIG to the organizers and the accompanying personnel, and had an on-site exchange with Mr. Wang Haitao, Vice President of SuperMap and President of SuperMap International. Dr. Dumashie said that SuperMap is a leading GIS manufacturer in the world. With a complete GIS product system, SuperMap is committed to the development and application of cutting-edge GIS technology, and has strong competitiveness in the international market. FIG hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation with SuperMap, and welcomes SuperMap to use the platform built by FIG to communicate and share technology with other member institutions and member groups.

Yan Qin, Vice President of the China Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography and President of the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, and her delegation also visited the SuperMap for exchanges. She affirmed SuperMap's international influence and said that SuperMap should actively play a leading role in the industry and lead other Chinese companies to actively communicate and cooperate with overseas peers in the surveying, mapping and geographic information industry.

Eric A. Nyadimo, Chairman of the Kenyan Institute of Surveyors, and Samuel DARKO, Chairman of the Ghana Registered Surveyors Association, also came to exchange ideas and learn more about SuperMap technology. Mr. Wang Haitao attended the FIG partner enterprise member closed-door meeting. He proposed that FIG should strengthen its interaction with China's surveying and mapping field and organize more exchange activities in China, which triggered heated discussions among the guests.

At the conference, Yan Qin was successfully elected as the Vice Chairman of FIG.

In this event, SuperMap had in-depth exchanges with representatives from government surveying and mapping departments around the world, introduced China's GIS technology and development.

We look forward to more in-depth exchanges with surveying and mapping colleagues and surveying and mapping authorities in the future to jointly improve natural resource management capabilities. At the same time, SuperMap will continue to strengthen cooperation with FIG to build a bridge for GIS technology exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries.
