Seminar on Land Information System and the Potential Use of SuperMap GIS Technology in Laos has been successfully finished!
The seminar on Land Information System and the Potential Use of SuperMap GIS Technology was successfully held during May 12-13, 2009 in the Novotel Vientiane, Laos. This seminar was organized by the National Land Management Authority (NLMA) in Laos and co-organized by the SuperMap International Limited. It is very heartened to announce that there were approximately 150 participants, including GIS specialists, researchers and users from different line Ministries and agencies joined this grand occasion.
The speeches from Mr. KHAM OUANE BOUPHA, Minister of Prime Minister’s Office, Head of NLMA, Lao PDR and our chairman, Prof. ZHONG ERSHUN marked the start of the opening ceremony, which had also been broadcasted by the Laos TV News. This seminar provides a platform for different parties to share and exchange their experiences, especially in the fields of Social Economic Development in Developing Country; Worldwide GIS Technology Trend; GIS Applications with Forestry Protection and Forest Logging in Malaysia and several GIS Applications with the SuperMap GIS Technology in Government Sector, Land Information System, Census, Farming, Environmental Protection and Public Transports in China. It also aims as sharing the idea of computerization of land management and administration systems to support e-governance in Laos as well as showing the existing and future potential use of the SuperMap Technology in helping to achieve this goal.
Last but not least, SuperMap, as one of the organizer, would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the honorable guests as our keynote speakers to share their precious experience to the audiences. Moreover, thanks should also be given to all the participants who contribute valuable opinions and ideas during the seminar.
