SuperMap GIS Technologies, Inc. and its partners launched a series of land survey software dedicated to serving the Second National Land Survey Campaign recently. Within the series, a mobile application running on handheld devices can manage massive remote sensing and geospatial data, plot land elements on site, increasing the efficiency of the filed work of land survey. In addition, a land use survey tool for in house work helps the users easily import the filed work data to database, achieving fast process of all kinds of elements of land use.
According to Mr Mingju Wen, the deputy head of the Cadastral Department of the Ministry of Land Resources, the technical process of the second national land survey campaign is as follows: image archives are captured by remote sensing technology; ortho-photos are generated; field work is further carried out with those photos and automatic field investigation is processed; house work is then carried out; information statistics and analysis are completed; management and update mechanism of the data from field work is established; dynamic monitoring land use system is gradually established. It is expected that RS, GIS, GPS and other geospatial information technologies will play a major role in the coming second national land survey campaign.
