The United Nations International Workshop on GIS Technology and Application will be held on June 28-29, 2025, in Zhejiang, China. It is co-organized by the United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre, the Geographic Information System Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, People’s Republic of China, and SuperMap Software Co., Ltd.
You are cordially invited to attend this workshop in Deqing, the county of geographic information.
The workshop is part of the geographic information systems (GIS) training programs by the United Nations. To achieve sustainable development, the global society urgently needs to improve the geographic information management capabilities and explore the applications of GIS in social development and environmental protection. Under this background, sharing geospatial industry advancements and cultivating talents to support industry innovations is necessary. The United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre has actively responded to the 2030 Agenda and engaged in multiple events to advance the communication among the global geospatial community. The workshop is just one of these efforts.
Centering around the global geographic policies and GIS innovations in sustainable development, the workshop will provide training both in the discipline and practice. Technological topics, including geospatial Big Data, 3D real-scene China construction, and digital twin applications, will be discussed to share advancements and application cases in China and abroad. Through multi-type sessions, we aim to provide you with a holistic perspective and build a platform for dialogue on global geographic development.
