Comprehensive Spatial Analysis

  ◆ 3D modeling and analysis

SuperMap GIS has 3D visualization engine which allows multiple 3D maps to be overlaid with each other and each map layer can be controlled just as the 2D maps.

  ◆ Network Analysis

Network analysis is widely used in public transportation, electronic power, pipeline management etc. SuperMap GIS has lots of utility network analysis functions:

    ○    Shortest and Optimal route Analysis
      ○   Critical node and critical edge analysis
         Closest facilities search
         Service area analysis
         Resource allocating
         Suitable location analysis
         Buffer Analysis

SuperMap GIS has perfect buffer analysis functions to create common buffer zone for point, line, region and also complex buffer such as ring buffer, multilevel buffer, multi-object buffer, asymmetry buffer, etc. are provided.

  ◆ Overlay Analysis

The overlay analysis in SuperMap GIS can be performed between geometric object and vector dataset or among vector datasets. Various overlay analysis methods such as Intersect, identity, union, clip, erase etc. are all available.

  ◆ Grid Analysis

The grid calculator in grid analysis of SuperMap GIS 6R not only has arithmetic operations among raster data such as plus, minus, multiply and divide, but also has complex operations such as power, square, logarithm, and trigonometric functions. The grid analysis model in SuperMap GIS can freely be extended according to the needs of complex analysis.

  ◆ Hydrology Analysis

The hydrology analysis in SuperMap GIS includes sink filling, flow direction creation, watershed delineation, stream shape extraction, flow accumulation, etc.

Service Aggregation Support

Service aggregation is a procedure to combine services in various types from different sources to form a new service through configuration operations. According to the aggregated software level, we class it into three categories: client aggregation, Web-server level aggregation and server aggregation. Client aggregation indicates aggregation multiple services on the client side. Web-server level aggregation means to aggregate several services on the web-server level, and republish them to the client side. Server aggregation is able to combine many services in GIS, and publish the new aggregated service.

By service aggregation, the online map and data service issued by other department could be used directly, declining system establishment cost. Configuration operation does not require complicated development procedures; therefore, more people could be involved in development work. This technique also makes deploying services in different areas possible; meanwhile, it is able to reuse the established services to extend value of the current one, fast constructing new service to meet the speed requirement in business.

Support for Rich Internet Applications

RIAs (Rich Internet Applications) are types of applications between desktop applications and thin client programs, with more interactivity and display effects than thin client programs, providing better user experience. They do not require complicated installations and updates entailed by desktop applications. Examples of RIA frameworks and technologies include Ajax, Flex, Silverlight, and JavaFX. Based on a unified object model, SuperMap GIS offers SDK for developing RIAs with Ajax, Flex, and Silverlight, with which developers can develop GIS applications with smoother user experience.
